WIDEBAND INTERFERENCE &NOISE MITIGATION

UTSWB01

"THIS IS A GREAT COURSE WITH REAL WORLD SOLUTIONS"

More recently UTS in the process of training many field courses (hands-on in a live environment) have come across the need and the demand to resolve many wideband cable trouble conditions.  Many of these conditions we have found have been directly related to excessive vendor penalty payments and chronic trouble report lists.

Trouble conditions that have been found in many of these cases are intermittent and difficult to diagnose and analyze.  Through our training efforts we have developed a process that allows the technician (student) to understand this process and resolve these fault conditions.

Many of these faults require thorough training using far end device units, the spectrum analyzer and principles of noise mitigation most commonly related to open bonding and shielding.

Where this course has been taught we have seen a significant reduction in penalty payments and chronic list reports.  (cost of course pays for itself many times over)

Since the course is taught on worse case offenders we have been able to identify some of the more common found trouble conditions:

                open bonding and shielding

                inductive interference

                improper gauging

                terminal tails, bridge tap

                split pairs

Most of these conditions found require unique trouble shooting techniques.  Most facility techs have never been exposed to or provided training for these type conditions.

The course is 5 days with the first day in classroom and the remaining 4 days in the field on actual trouble conditions (preferably your worst case offenders). We prefer to limit the class to 6 students.  Some locations have added not only cable repair but also construction and special service forces.  We also encourage managers to attend.

This course address's many conditions that cause interference on wideband services such as T-1, HDSL2/4, ADSL, ADSL2+, VDSL1/2.
