CABLE PAIR FAULT LOCATING

FL402

"COURSE FREQUENTLY WILL PAY FOR ITS COST THRU MULTIPLE PAIRS RECOVERED."

COURSE PREFACE

The Cable Pair Fault Locating course is an advanced technical training course designed and developed to offer the field technician the skills to accurately diagnose cable pair faults, analyze the type of trouble and probable cause, get to the problem quickly and make a permanent cost effective repair.

The student will learn to test and analyze the process to detect and locate fault conditions such as:

Resistive Faults = Shorts, Grounds, Battery

Capacitive Faults = Opens, High Resistance, Pair Unbalance, Cable Pair Splits

Transmission Faults = Longitudinal Balance, Stress Tests, Noise, Power Influence, Inductive Interference

Impedance Irregularities = Bridge Taps, Terminal Tails, Load Coils, Build-Out Capacitors, Improper Gauging

Bonding and Shielding = Measuring Open Distances Using Opens by Ration and Cable Size/Diameter

Course is taught in live environment on actual troubles.

(all of these conditions may significantly effect the quality transmission of broadband services.)
