AIR PRESSURE BUFFERING
(APB 308)

COURSE PREFACE

The Air Pressure Buffering course is a technical training module designed and developed to offer the skills needed to prevent overall loss of system air pressure when a sheath or splice opening is made in pressurized cable.

This course trains the student with the skill to identify all pressurized cable and the need for proper buffering in both an air pipe system and in a non-air pipe system (static flow).

Trainees will learn how and where to place straps on an air pipe system when to turn off manifolds to individual cables and when to buffer the pipe with the correct PSI (pounds per square inch).

Students will learn to use the correct air pressure test equipment as well as engineering drawings to identify the right cable and to place straps at the proper intervals.

The class is taught in a live environment thus removing all simulated conditions. This process of real world application will enhance and build greater student confidence and retention.
