COURSE PREFACE
The service technician training for digital loop carrier systems
provides the skill to work in the digital loop carrier environment. We
teach the one day course at your location using your equipment in a working
digital loop carrier system. Service technicians will acquire the knowledge
and skill to correctly locate the customer problem and take the proper
corrective action for customer trouble conditions relating to digital loop
carrier plant.
The course provides a basic understanding of the principles of digital
loop carrier systems, working in the remote terminal environment and loop
transmission parameters and testing.
This course covers an in depth correlation of customer trouble conditions
including cause and effect when the transport is digital loop carrier.
OVERALL COURSE OBJECTIVES
Upon completion of this course the trainee will be able to:

Demonstrate the knowledge and skill to work safely and correctly in
and around the various types of remote terminals and system.

Understand and comply with proper plug-in and equipment handling.

Identify the different types of DLC systems, alarms and what not to
touch and why.

Understand and comply with proper paper work completion and coding.

Understand applications of field and Central Office test equipment.

Diagnose and apply the proper corrective action in the digital loop
carrier environment with faults such as:

Dial tone problems-none-slow.

Ringing problems.
-
Repeat report procedures.

Out of limits test reading.

Loop current-loss at 1004HZ-metallic
noise-power influence.

Excessive loss with slope.
-
Longitudinal balance.
-
Stressed and non-stressed balance
and slope tests.

Fax modems and caller-ID transmissions.
-
Improper loading or excessive bridged
tap. (loaded and non-loaded loops)

Wideband service problems(ADSL/HDSL2/HDSL4/T-1/ADSL2+/VDSL2)
