COURSE PREFACE

The pole climbing and ladder climbing course offers a pass fail curriculum that assures full knowledge of all technical and safety applications of working aloft. The course addresses detection of physical and electrical hazards and procedures for handling.

This course is taught using approved fall arrest equipment to offer the latest technology in safety.

OVERALL COURSE OBJECTIVES

Upon completion of this course the trainee will demonstrate and be proficient with the following skills:

• Testing for physical and electrical hazards.
• Proper climbing procedures using climbers, belts, safety straps and hand lines.
• Proper use of ladders, ladder straps, hand lines.
• Procedures for carrying, raising and lowering ladders.
• Safety procedures for climbing and ladder handling.
